Anime Club to experience period of inactivity

The CHS Anime Club has not scheduled any major events until the end-of-the-year party, according to Yanying Chen, Anime Club president and junior.

Although the club has not planned any new events for now, according to Chen, it is fun and enjoyable.

“It’s a place where I can see all the people that have the same interests, and we can talk about similar things,” Chen said. “I know lots of people like ‘Bleach’ and ‘Naruto,’ but I think most people watch that, so we tend to introduce them or try to introduce them to new anime that (is) out to see whether we can open their horizons and get (them) into a new experience (and) new genres of anime.”

Anime Club sponsor Rita Winters also contributed her opinions of the club so far this year.

“It looks to me like the Anime Club is expanding and bringing in members that are different than previous years,” Winters said. “I’m not sure how they did that, but that is very different this year.”

According to Chen, new members are always welcome, but they will have to watch some anime if they come.
