Carmel Young Life meetings have resumed for second semester. Young Life Campaigners will take place every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at 525 Bolderwood Drive. Young Life Club will take place on Tuesdays at the American Legion building in downtown Carmel at 7:32 p.m., beginning Feb. 5.

Shana Porter, Young Life member and senior, said that these meetings are the beginning of her planned Young Life involvement for the duration of the year. In addition to the weekly meetings, Porter intends to partake in service weekends as well as summer work camps.

“I’m really looking forward to doing a service weekend with some of my friends,” Porter said. “We pick somewhere downtown and do a day of service and may end up spending the night. And then this summer I can’t wait to do work crew and go to one of the camps with other Young Life members.”

This summer, members can choose from two camps. According to Head Sponsor, Jenna Perkins, the camp options differ from those last year.

“Young Life Camp this summer can be either Camp Saranac or Camp Wilderness,” Perkins said. “Saranac is a new camp, which replaced Castaway from last year.”

Camp health and permission forms will be released later in the month and will be available for downloading at the Carmel Young Life website.
