All Young Life camp forms are available on the Carmel Young Life website. Aspiring campers can either sign up online or pick up print forms at Young Life Campaigners and Club meetings. Young Life Club takes place Tuesdays at 7:32 p.m. at the American Legion building. Young Life Campaigners meet every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at 525 Bolderwood Dr.

Shana Porter, Young Life member and senior, plans on attending either Camp Saranac or Camp Wilderness as a work crew member. This will be Porter’s second time on a work crew.

“This summer I worked on work crew at a Young Life Camp in Michigan,” Porter said. “I was in Michigan for about a month”

According to head sponsor, Jenna Perkins, work crew members devote their time to behind-the-scenes activities, as opposed to participating as a regular camper.

“Work crew takes place at any of the Young Life camps,” Perkins said. “Instead of going as a camper you serve the campers and do behind the scenes work like washing dishes, being a server in the dining hall and cutting grass.”
