Because of the many performing arts events scheduled for the upcoming months, Global Giving is not hosting a talent showcase this year, according to co-president and senior Jessica Chiang. Also, she said due to the number of events taking place, it is hard to find a space to host the talent showcase.
“We’re saving the talent showcase for next year because, with the spring musical and all the performing arts competitions, it’s getting kind of crazy right now. And I’m not sure if we can reserve a space for it either,” Chiang said.
Without the talent showcase to plan, the club would like to do more in-school events like a bake sale so that it won’t interfere with students’ after school schedule, according to sponsor Ryan Ringenberg.
Chiang said, “I would not put an annual event just to have the event. I think it’s a bad move, especially since I’ve been planning events since freshman year.”
