The Teen Library Council (TLC) is on its way to planning the events of the year with its first TLC meeting on Sept. 3. TLC members, along with Jamie Beckman, Young Adult librarian at the Carmel Clay Public Library (CCPL) and Hope Baugh, Young Adult services manager at the CCPL, began discussing new changes that could happen this year.

The annual book buying trips will take place only in the spring for this school year, contrasting to the fall and spring trips last year. However, many TLC members simply said they are excited to begin a fresh new year.
Sophomore Kimaya Raje is one of those members.
“I like to read, and I want to contribute to the society,” Raje said.
Beckman said she is also excited to begin a new year for the TLC.
Beckman said, “I’m glad to see so many new faces at Teen Library Council.”
