According to Mitchell Morfas, DECA president and senior, the theme for this year’s Holiday Secret Shop is “Winter Wonderland 2.0.” Morfas said the theme is essentially the same as last year’s Winter Wonderland theme.

“We really liked that theme last year, so I think we’re just going to stick with it” Morfas said.

DECA will conduct Holiday Secret Shop at the CHS Spirit Shop on Dec. 2 to 6 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. and on Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to raise funds to support the DECA club.

During Holiday Secret Shop, children roughly from the ages of 2 to 10 years old will be able to buy presents for their friends and family. Children will be able to shop without their friends and family, so their gifts remain secret. The children will be paired with DECA members to help ensure they stay within their individual budgets.

According to DECA sponsor Laura Cardamon, seven preschools have appointments scheduled for Holiday Secret Shop, and many of the preschools will bring about 30 children.

“We are expecting and hoping for a lot of children” Cardamon said.

According to Cardamon, DECA students receive a grade based on how much work they do for the Holiday Secret Shop. Students must work 22 hours to get an A. However, Cardamon said many students have already reached this mark.

“Everyone’s working really hard,” Cardamon said. “It’s a really nice group, collaborative effort.”
