Global Giving was planning on bringing back Carmel’s Best Dance Crew this year, but due to the lack of dance crews, the club has decided to have a talent showcase this year, according to co-president and senior Jessica Chiang.

“I don’t think we’re going to have Carmel’s Best Dance Crew just because we don’t have the dancer base to get crews because we usually have a lot of crews that are willing to do it, but this year we don’t have that. In previous years, we had five or more (dance crews), but this year, I’m not really sure if there are any concrete crews,” Chiang said.

According to club sponsor Ryan Ringenberg, during the club’s next meeting on Dec. 2, club members will finalize the details of the talent showcase. According to Chiang, the rules of talent show and advertisement for the event still need to be planned. The club will donate all the money collected from ticket sales to a charity at the end of the year.

Chiang said, “I think the talent show might be more productive than Carmel’s Best Dance Crew simply because at this point, we have so many types of acts that could come up with. I’d  encourage people to join because it’s not anything competitive or a lot of pressure. If you have a talent or hobby that you would like to show off, then definitely sign up.”
