Last month, the aquatic center, led by director Nicole Stein-Bills, began talks with Prime Life Fitness. The contract allows the Carmel Aquatic Center to move a portion of its group swimming lessons to the Prime Life Fitness Facility. Stein-Bills said, “We can only have 3 group swim lessons at the facility because space is limited.”
However, Stein-Bills said she is looking forward to moving a few of the group swim lessons. The primary reason for the shift is because Prime Life Fitness has warmer pools. “I am excited for the opportunity just because I was in the pool today and it was cold. Eighty-seven degrees will be nice for the kids.” According to Stein-Bills, the warmer pool water will make the students come back more often and have a more enjoyable lesson.
Gracie Nichols, advanced swim instructor and freshman, said she agrees with the shift to Prime Life Fitness. “I enjoy being a swim instructor because I was once a swimmer and remember the cold water.” She said that the kids will enjoy the warmer water.
