Chinese Culture Club transforms into Global Giving

The Chinese Culture Club here at CHS has dissolved. The club was an organization primarily focused on broadening students’ understanding of Chinese culture, but it has dissolved due to a lack of interest and focus, according to the club’s former sponsor, Ryan Ringenberg. Ringenberg said the club has morphed into Global Giving.

“The leaders wanted to go in a different direction with a little bit more purpose,” Ringenberg said. “I like the new direction, with raising money for a cause while at the same time focusing on different cultures.”

One of the club’s former presidents, Michael Wang, is now a president for Global Giving. Like Ringenberg, Wang said that the Chinese Culture Club simply morphed into Global Giving, and he is also satisfied with the shift.

“Global Giving encompasses everything that was in the Chinese Culture Club, with a little extra bam,” Wang said. Because of this, he said he does not particularly miss the Chinese Culture Club.

If anyone wishes to restart the Chinese Culture Club, Ringenberg suggests that they find a different sponsor, as he is the new sponsor for Global Giving.

“Everyone is welcome to attend Global Giving,” Ringenberg said.
