Kian Robinson, Teens with a Choice member and junior, talks to a friend during school. Robinson said the club has had fewer meetings as the year has progressed but he is still passionate about the cause.

According Sasha Matsuki, Teens with a Choice president and senior, sophomore Chloe Wareham will be club president next year. Matsuki said the club has no additional events planned for this year.

Wareham said she wants to change some aspects of the club next year. She said, “I don’t mean to speak badly of anyone of in cabinet of Teens With a Choice this year, but we’ve gotten quite lax about meetings especially towards the end of the year. I want to make sure we have our meetings as we intended at the beginning of the year consecutively throughout the year.”

She also said that she wants the club to do more work involving direct engagement with the community. “I want to go in the direction of the Young Democrats Club this year. They had a lot more community outreach this year and I want to engage with the community. We do one fundraiser a year and I want to do that again but I also want to participate in more local events and (have) more discussion with a wider range of people.”

Sponsor Chad Andrews said, “(The members) have done a lot this year but now it’s time for passing leadership down and ensuring that the club lives on in them.”

Wareham said another aspect she’s looking forward to is outreach within the school. She said, “I’m most excited to bring new people into the club because in the past couple of years it’s been the same crowd and now they’re graduating. I’m sad to see them go but I want to see a new perspective and new ideas brought to the table.”
