Joseph Broman, sponsor and math teacher, looks at possible competitions for the next school year. The Math Club members said although there are no more upcoming competitions for this school year, they have begun preparing for competitions next year.
As the school year draws to a close, the Math Club members plan future competitions for the next school year and will be electing officers in the coming weeks.
Joseph Broman, sponsor and math teacher, said, “For next year, Jerry Wang will be our president and we’re electing a co-president in the following weeks.”
Broman said that one of his goals for next school year is to not only expand Math Club, but also to enroll in more competitions.
“The last Mandelbrot competition ended this year, so we have to find more competitions to compete in,” Broman said.
Jerry Wang, future president and junior, said, “One of the competitions that we’re looking into is an online competition. We want to expand the number of competitions we compete in so we can get more practice on math problems.”
“Overall, I think Math Club is making a lot of changes for the next school year,” Broman said. “I think the kids had a lot of fun this year and I hope we can continue to improve for future competitions.”
