Book drive during SRT for Invisible Children

From now unitl Jan. 21 Invisible Children will host a book drive to
raise money for the Layibi Secondary School in Northern Uganda. Any
gently used books, which will be sold later for money, can be donated during SRT. Co-President and senior Emily Patterson said members of
Invisible Children will come around during SRT to collect all
donations. Book donations can also be dropped off to Room E228. The SRT
that contributes the highest number of books will receive a pizza party
in SRT.

Sponsor Alicia Noneman sent an e-mail to staff reminding them of the
great cause they are supporting. “The school receiving the money helps
protect children from being abducted and forced to fight in the rebel
army as well as acclimate former child soldiers into life as an
ordinary child,” she said.

“Last year the drive raised over $300,” Patterson said. “This year we
are looking to greatly exceed that amount.” For more information, go to
InvisibleChildren.com. By Maddi Bourgerie <[email protected]>
