Starting from the beginning of January, the counseling department will begin to meet with students regarding their course selection for the 26-27 academic year. As of Jan. 20, class registration on PowerSchool will close. Instructions on course registration are available in the counseling department Canvas page.

According to counselor John Moorehead, it is important to look at the counseling module on the for resources like the program of studies. Moorehead said, “The module includes important information about graduation requirements, required courses, special programs, and classes that require applications. It is also beneficial to take a look at Naviance. ”

According to the counseling Canvas page, students are required to sign up for meetings with their respective counselors to finalize their course selections and discuss future opportunities.

Junior Chelsea Meng said the resources provided by the counseling department have helped her choose the right courses for her senior year.

Meng said she emphasized applying for the Transition to College program (TCP) because it would allow her free time to work on college applications.

“I am excited for senior year and TCP because it’ll give me a chance to unwind a bit from school, yet remain academically rigorous,”  Meng said. By Riva Jain.
