On Sept. 25, the men’s cross-country team will participate in the Culver Invitational. Culver is hosting the meet, which will begin at 9 a.m. Head Coach Erhard “Doc” Bell said he hopes the team will be up to the task of competing against Columbus North, who is ranked first in the state.
Bell said other competing teams competing in the invitational include the aforementioned Columbus North, North Central, Terre Haute North, and Chesterton among the over 100 teams that will be attending the meet.
Captain and senior Christopher Walden said “We are looking forward to the opportunity of competing against the best teams in the state to see where we are at before the upcoming MIC Championship.”
Walden set a new course record and a new school record at the 55th Annual Trinity Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky on Sept. 18. The team won that invitational and Bell said, “I hope that success will continue to this weekend.”
The team’s next meet is the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference Championships on Oct. 6 at Ben Davis. By Reuben Warshawsky <[email protected]>
