The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced that 50 CHS students have been named National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalists according to CHS counselor Bettina Cool. The National Merit Scholarship honors the students who had some of the top scores in the country on the previous fall’s PSAT’s.
Cool said via e-mail, “We have the highest number (of students who are semi-finalists) in the State of Indiana. (National Merit) not only shows a student’s ability, but also their dedication and hard work. It is also a chance for scholarships.”
CHS improved their number of semi-finalists by 11 over the past year, keeping the top spot in Indiana.
Cool says that the high number of semi-finalists “Reflects positively on the school as a whole.”
