Rising Stars to meet Oct. 6, will discuss upcoming hayride event

Rising Stars will have their next meeting on Oct. 6. According to Jillian MacNulty, vice president of the club and senior, the meeting will focus on discussing the club’s upcoming event at Stony Creek Farm. MacNulty welcomes anyone to attend the meeting. “We would love to have them there,” Macnulty said.

The hayride will be the main event at Stony Creek Farm which the Rising Stars club participates in annually. So far, a cookout, games, and skit have been planned for the event.

“We will have a cookout with roast hotdogs and s’mores,” sponsor Jim Peterson said.

Board members of the club will also contribute foods to the cookout. In addition, there will be a pumpkin decorating contest in which the club member with the best decorated pumpkin wins a prize. Later, club members can sit on tractor-pulled wagons for a hayride around the farm.

“It’s…a bonding experience.” Larissa White, Senior Board Representative and senior, said.

Because one of the Board’s main goals this year is to increase member participation, additional suggestions for the hayride, such as what kind of music and games to play, can be recommended at the Thursday meeting.
