On Feb. 12, at 6 p.m., the women’s basketball team will play Hamilton Southeastern at North Central in the first game of the Sectional tournament. The winner of this game will play at North Central on Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m.

Earlier this season, on Nov. 30, the women’s basketball team defeated Hamilton Southeastern 48-40. Head Coach Scott Bowen said that having already beat Hamilton Southeastern this season gives the team confidence.

Varsity player and sophomore Celene Funke said she agrees and feels confident in the team’s ability. “I think if we play our best we have a good shot. We have been working really hard all season and hopefully it will pay off,” Funke said.

Bowen said that overall, he and the team are very confident going into Sectional play. “We have played the second toughest schedule in the state, which has gotten us ready for this time of the year. We are looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead,” Bowen said.
