Key Club’s next meeting is scheduled to take place on Feb. 23, before school at 7:15 and after school at 3:15 in the freshman cafeteria, according to Kern Vohra, Key Club president and senior.
Sponsor Katie Gray said, “There has been a lower meeting attendance lately, but members should still keep coming in order to hear about different hours opportunities and sign up.”
The next event many Key Club members will be participating in is Dance Marathon, which is scheduled to take place on Feb.25, and counts for Key Club hours.

“We usually have a large numbers of members that do Dance Marathon,” Gray said. “They can get hours as long as they indicate on the Dance Marathon form that they’re in Key Club.”
In addition to Dance Marathon, members can still sign up to work at elementary spring carnivals in order to earn their 40 service hours, which are due on May 10 according to Vohra.
“The first carnival is Prairie Trace on March 2, and it’s still available to sign up for,” Vohra said.
According to Gray, Key Club is also applying for a grant to have a senior citizens’ dance at Prime Life Enrichment on May 12.
“We were working on our application for the grant,” Vohra said. “Basically we had to fill out a budget, say what services we were providing, and explain our purpose which is to bridge the generation gap.”
