Both the Ambassadors and the Accents are set to compete on March 9 at Lafayette Jefferson High School in Lafayette, IN. The performance marks one of the first shows of competition season, choir teacher Lamonte Kuskye said. The list of competitors will include schools such as Franklin Central High School and Center Grove. Kuskye also said the competition will likely last all day. Each group is given roughly 25 minutes for setup, performance and clean-up.

“It takes a long time to learn it, it’s much more concentrated than what people would see in a concert,” Kuskye said, referring to their competition piece. “We literally rehearse every rehearsal, and Monday nights and Wednesday nights.”
Ambassador and junior Ian Jones attested to this fact, remarking that the practices required extra energy and effort on the part of the choir.
According to Kuskye, the choirs began preparations in January for competition season due to the annual Holiday Spectacular, while many schools began their competition season after winter break.
