LifeLines is scheduled to meet at 7:05 a.m. on Feb. 6 in the community room. According to sponsor Rebekah Overbey, members will continue the ongoing projects of February’s Black History Month, which include making trivia questions for the video announcements and presenting movies during SRT.
“(Black History Month) is not just for the black culture, but it’s also been for anybody who will be in need,” Overbey said. “Whether it’s working with someone else or getting along with someone, they can work together to make a difference and that would be awesome for students to realize that.”
According to Katie Tortorice, co-chairperson of Black History Month events and sophomore, LifeLines members will show the movie “The Blind Side” in a future SRT.
“It’s either going to be ‘The Blind Side’ or a movie that will show how African Americans are equal and everyone are all equal,” she said. “I want this to recognize everyone on this planet and that no one should be segregated for the way they look, they talk, and that we are all equal in God’s eyes.”
