Many members of the Rising Stars will be taking an active role in the production of school musicals in the upcoming months. Auditions for the musical “Tarzan” has been going on in the past week and will finish on Feb. 13. Also, the musical “The Other Room” directed by senior Dakota Novak will be showing on Feb. 14, in the studio theater. Many Rising Stars members will be acting in this production.

In addition, the club has some events coming up in the next few weeks. The next meeting will be on March 7. As usual, the meeting will be themed, although the theme has yet to be decided.

“We have a tentative outline of the meetings,” Amanda Boldt, representative-at-large and senior, said. “However, I am not sure what the next theme will be.”

In May, club members will host the end-of-year banquet in which members with enough points will be inducted into the Thespians Society. The exact date for the banquet has not yet been decided.

“To enter Thespians, members [of Rising Stars] must earn points by working backstage, playing in productions and attending conferences,” Jim Peterson, sponsor of Rising Stars, said.
