LifeLines will conduct a presentation regarding its Pre-Spring Break Awareness Week for the Junior Class on March 22 during SRT. According to Sheen Zheng, LifeLines co-vice-president and junior, public speaker Kira Hudson will speak to the juniors about safe driving and smart choices in life at the presentation. Junior SRTs will be dismissed directly to the Dale E. Graham Auditorium after SRT video announcements, according to LifeLines sponsor Rebekah Overbey
“This is the same speaker we had for the Junior Class last year so I know the presentation will be a good one,” Zheng said.
LifeLines members will also conduct a second seatbelt check on Wednesday. According to Overbey, members will tally the number of people who wear seatbelts in all parking lots of the school during late start. She said members will use that information to continue teaching CHS students about the dangers of drunk driving and to encourage students to drive safely and make good choices.
“Hopefully we can somehow present this data to the school during the week before spring break,” Overbey said. “The point of this is to help students understand the importance of safe driving.”
