At the next Key Club meeting on April 16, club members will vote for class board officers who submitted applications in March. According to club sponsor Katherine Kelly, each grade will have two board representatives. The class board officers will help the executive officers find volunteer projects, as well as keep members informed and updated about upcoming events and deadlines.

“We just got our new executive officers for next year, which is really exciting, but I’m also really excited to get our full leadership team with the class board members before the end of this year,” Kelly said. “We had a lot of people apply for class board, so I’m really looking forward to working with them.”

Key Club members can also volunteer for sports days at Christ’s Community Church (CCC) and Fall Creek Community Church (FCCC). Students will supervise participants as they play soccer and basketball, making sure they play fairly and safely. CCC’s sports days will be on April 20, 21 and 23 from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. FCCC’s sports days will be on April 25, 27 and 28. The April 25 event will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while the April 27 and 28 events will run from 5:15 to 8:30 p.m. Club members can sign up for sports days on the Key Club website.

Ben Sun, Key Club member and sophomore, said he plans to volunteer for the sports days.

“I enjoy playing and watching sports, but I think the sports day will let me experience that from a different perspective. I’m looking forward to making it a fun day for other students, too” he said.
