WHJE is working on preparing new content for the holiday season as well as the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters (IASB) radio competition in March.

WHJE member and junior Zach Miller said he plans to improve the radio station by keeping its projects and songs up-to-date.

Miller said, “We program specific times to play types of songs. It’s about getting everything updated and making one cohesive package so we sound fresh by keeping up with the music and the times.”

Miller also said the station keeps its content consistent despite the time of year.

He said, “We don’t change too much. We might make a few promos that are holiday-based, but we don’t program anything special, because we like to keep a distinct sound.”

According to WHJE adviser Brian Spilbeler, the radio station has set its goals on competing at IASB and students are working on their projects. However, the main goal right now for WHJE is to improve the quality of its content.

“The structure is pretty much the same. We have a lot going on. For the most part, we are just trying to improve what we’ve done in the past,” Spilbeler said.
