On Oct. 16 the German Club is scheduled to have its annual hayride at Eagle Creek Park from 6 to 10 p.m. According to German Club sponsor Laura King this event is already completely full, with 54 people attending. Along with a hayride members will also have a bonfire to roast marshmallows and hotdogs. Theresa Lipp, German Club president and junior said, “It’s really fun especially having hay fights.”
In addition to the German Club members, newly arrived German exchange students and their hosts are welcome at this event. Lipp said, “(The event) promotes German Club. (German exchange students and hosts) really get to see what German Club is all about.” The German exchange students arrived Oct. 9 from Marie-Curie Gymnasium, a high school located in a suburb of Berlin. They are scheduled to be here until Oct. 28.
On Nov. 3 the German Club is scheduled to have a movie night in the community room. At the movie night members will watch “Nosferatu,” a silent German film and the first film ever made about Dracula. According to King, they will also have the opportunity to sample German popcorn seasoned with sugar and Apfelsohorle, a mixture of apple juice and mineral water. By Meredith Boyd <[email protected]>
