Academic Decathlon will meet on Nov. 9 to prepare for its upcoming competitions.
The area competition will be Jan. 23 at Homestead High School. The State Competition will be Feb. 12 and Feb. 13 at Purdue University.
Academic Decathlon members will practice their impromptu speeches. They will also review the history of the French Revolution.
“The meetings are Mondays. Usually every other Monday,” Academic Decathlon co-coach Scott Staley said.
Participants have to review and study on their own through individual reading.
“T-shirt designs were talked about at the last meeting. We also talked about who would be on the team and what bracket they’d be in. We practiced our impromptu speeches,” Leslie Cornelius, Academic Decathlon president and senior, said.
The participants are in the honors division, scholastic division or varsity division as a result of their grades. By Natalie Maier <[email protected]>
