Speech team places 6th overall in the super-varsity category at the first meet of the school year at Lawrence Central high school, according to speech team sponsor John Love.
Other placings include 2nd in the Discussion category by junior Afra Hussain, 4th in the Memorized Duo category by juniors Caroline Stephens and Olga Munteanu, 4th in the Declamation category by senior Stefanie Wettersten, 4th and 8th in the Domestic Extemporaneous category by seniors Dianya Pu and Zoe Yan (respectively), 7th in the Original Oratory category by senior Hannah Smith and 9th in the International Extemporaneous category by sophomore Nikhil Dharan.
Love said, “There are about 14 different categories to choose from and students get to choose which category they would like to participate in.”
