The Academic Decathlon will meet Dec.7 to prepare for its upcoming competitions.
The Area Competition will be Jan. 23 at Homestead High School. The State Competition will be Feb. 12 and Feb. 13 at Purdue University.
Academic Decathlon members will study topics about the French Revolution as a team.
“At a past meeting we talked about the test that determines who will get to be on the team,” said Leslie Cornelius, Academic Decathlon president and senior.
T-shirt designs, impromptu speeches and team study were also on the agenda at past meetings.
“Nine students will participate in the competitions but about 20 came to the call-out meeting,” said Academic Decathlon co-coach Scott Staley.
The Academic Decathlon usually meets every other Monday. Participants prepare for the competitions and meetings with a binder of information about the French Revolution. By Natalie Maier <[email protected]>
