Jewish Student Union (JSU) is planning to meet Sept. 20 after school in the main cafeteria to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, according to Brett Gerstein, club co-president and junior, via e-mail.
Rosh Hashanah is the beginning of the Jewish calendar year, according to Gerstein, and falls on Sept. 29 this year. Gerstein said the club will celebrate by bringing in food.
“We will be celebrating a ‘sweet new year’ by eating apples dipped in honey,” Gerstein said.
Club members will also make locker signs during the meeting.
According to sponsor Shelly Rubinstein, the next JSU meeting will be Oct. 4.
