On Thursday, Feb. 2, the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) came together for their second meeting of the semester and brainstormed ideas for upcoming events.
“We finally got around to our big goals,” Reid Libby, club president and senior said.
The club hopes to make t-shirts and have a video announcement on CHTV. It is also planning fundraising events to raise money for their activities.
“The easiest way for us (to raise money) is a bake sale,” said Libby. “We have fantastic baked goods.”
The fundraisers will also help to raise money for the GSA’s Houndstock booth, where they will tie-dye and sell t-shirts.
Last semester, the GSA hosted Ally Week. This semester, they hope to increase the success gained from that event.
“It showed (the members) what they were capable of in terms of something bigger,” sponsor Jeremy Horner said. “They would like to take that success and move it into Day of Silence and other things this semester.”
