School starts spring maintenance, plans for summer construction

The recent change to spring-like weather has brought about the new cycle of maintenance and upkeep at CHS. As the weather has gotten warmer, the time when CHS switches the temperature of the building comes closer. According to assistant principal Doug Bird, the temperature at CHS is changed twice a year, once at the beginning of winter and once at the onset of spring.

“The changes are set and will happen when the time comes,” Bird said.

“I’m excited for the school to get cooler and not be so hot,” sophomore Hannah Ardery said. Custodians have also begun the regular maintenance on the grounds that takes place in the spring, including mowing the lawns.

“The custodians here do a great job and the students are also very good at helping them by keeping this school looking good,” Bird said.

Along with the usual maintenance, this summer CHS will replace the lower floor of the E rooms with the same type of tile that was put on the upper level of the E rooms. Also, the construction of the new weight room and gym will begin over the summer, according to Bird.
