According to the school board, it has identified three finalists for the open superintendent position. The finalists, Dr. Eric Ban, Dr. Bruce Hibbard and Dr. Mary Ann Dewan, were evaluated based on the Leadership Profile created from community input and were announced at the school board meeting on Monday, March 25. Short biographies for each of the candidates can be found here. Additionally, the board scheduled public forums this week at the Educational Services Center for each of the finalists to be introduced and to answer questions from the public.

The public forum for Ban is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26 from 4-5 p.m., the forum for Hibbard is scheduled for Wednesday, March 27 from 4-5 p.m. and the public forum for Dewan is scheduled for March 28 from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

According to the school board’s search timeline, after a second round of interviews the school board will visit the candidate’s current districts between April 1 and 12, and then the public will have the opportunity to review the proposed contract in reference to IN Public Law 148. Current superintendent Jeff Swensson, who has been in the district for six years, will step down at the end of June 2013.
