In two weeks, Pinnacle will be going to a journalism convention in Boston. According to Nicole Wilson, the adviser of the Pinnacle, the purpose of the convention is “to allow high school students to experience journalism on a more independent (or) professional network.”
Wilson said that she plans to bring seven Pinnacle members. Wilson said she thinks there will be approximately 3,000 to 5,000 students at the convention.
One of the students Wilson plans to bring is Emily Brungard, web editor for the Pinnacle and senior.
Brungard said she is really excited for the convention, and in addition to showing off the Pinnacle, she said she really likes to explore the cities.
In April 2013, Brungard went to San Francisco for a journalism convention.
Brungard said, “That time, I entered in some website contests, and we brought eight students, compared to seven this time.”
Wilson said, “We usually place well, so I think everyone will learn something from this.”
