The choir department has been preparing to put on the annual Holiday Spectacular concert in the auditorium on Dec. 4, 5, 7 and 8. Tickets range from $8-18 and the each show is projected to have a two hour run time.
According to choral director Lamonte Kuskye, the show will be shorter this year featuring only 32 numbers. There will be five shows in total, at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 4, 5, and 7, and also at 2 p.m. on Dec. 7 and 8. Kuskye said, “It’s not doing it that’s hard, it’s creating it that’s the struggle for us. Trying to make it fun and different, that’s hard.” However, Kuskye said that the choir features some of the best singers and most beautiful music they’ve ever had.
Kelsey Regan, sophomore and member of Encores, said, “Even though it’s a really great opportunity to perform, sometimes it can be overwhelming with the amount of stuff we have to do, and the practices, and all of the people that are there.”
She said, “I’m looking forward to Holiday Spec because it’s going to give me the opportunity to meet new people in other choirs and also get closer to the girls that are in my choir.”
