Gupta talks with friends after an AP exam. Gupta may take over as president of ISA next year, but it is still undecided.
Many of the members of Indian Student Alliance (ISA) will be graduating in May, which will leave the club without leadership in the coming fall. Club sponsor and teacher Paige Wehr, has some concerns about the future of the club. Via email Wehr said, “I honestly do not know if the club will continue next year. (The club) was mainly driven by Nida and since she is graduating, no one has stepped up to continue the club. Honestly and unfortunately, this happens with many clubs.”
However senior and club president Nida Khan is more optimistic. “The club has helped me in tremendous ways. I have made so many really great friends through it, and I hope underclassmen can get the same benefits,” Khan said.
Khan believes junior and club officer, Aryaman Gupta, has a possibility of taking the club over. He has been a member since his freshman year and helped plan the call out meeting earlier this year. She talked to him in the past about taking over but the two have not made any plans.
“I’d be more than happy to be president for a year to sustain the program,” Gupta said.
