Performing arts department schedules fall concerts

There are over 25 different major events on this school year’s calendar for the fine arts department. The fine arts department includes band, marching band, orchestra, theatre, film and choir.

There is something for everyone to enjoy this fall. The first choir concert is on Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

Following the choir, the fall band and orchestra concert is on Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

The theatre department puts on their first major production, “A Flea in Her Ear,” on Nov. 12, 13 and 14 in the studio theatre at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a special showing on Nov. 14 at 2 p.m.

The directors of the performing arts departments are very excited about this year’s performances. The performing arts directors are as follows: Richard Saucedo is the director of bands, Maggie Cassidy is the director of theatre, Diana Gillespie and Lamonte Kuskye are the choir directors, Soo Han is the director of orchestras and Bruce McConnell is the director of Concert Percussion.

No matter what their tastes in music and drama, students can be sure to find something they will enjoy from this year’s performing arts department.
