Orchestras to perform Oct. 19

All four orchestras are scheduled to kick-off their performance season with an upcoming fall concert on Monday, Oct. 19. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Dale E. Graham Auditorium.

Orchestra director Rachel Tookolo said students are preparing diligently for the upcoming performance, which include after school rehearsals for the symphony orchestra on Tuesdays and Thursdays. “After school rehearsing is going really well,” Tookolo said. “We’re already busy preparing for the first concert and the Midwest Clinic.”

Kyle Lin, vice president of the orchestra council and junior, said he looks forward to the show and hopes the orchestras’ hard work will pay off, not only for the concert but also for the Midwest Clinic, a prestigious and international conference held in Chicago that will take place in December.

“I’m hoping that, as well as preparing for the Midwest Clinic, (the concert) is a musically enriching experience for those who are there,” Lin said. “We’re working to be the best we can be.” By Tracy Sun <[email protected]>
