The human rights club Amnesty International will host its next meeting on Oct. 21 at 3:15 p.m. in Room C128. The club also hopes to have food at its next meeting. According to sponsor Jennifer Davis, the club usually meets every Gold Wednesday.
According to president and senior Rosemary Boeglin, members will discuss the club’s first topics to cover and vote on which ones to concentrate on. Such topics include human rights in the business sector as well as in the social and education areas. Past topics from last year included Guantanamo Bay along with legal detainment and torture.
During its last meeting, the club mainly wanted to get a list of members for a photo in the yearbook. Davis said, “Rosemary gave some info on topics and asked everyone to be thinking about what they’d like to discuss.” By Steven Chen <[email protected]>
