As the semester draws closer to the end, time is running out for students to sign up for LifeLines Buckle Down program. For students who sign up for the program, many prizes will be given out, including the grand prize of a car.
As to what Buckle Down is, sponsor Rebekah Overbey said, “It is part of a Hamilton County effort to help promote better decision making in the youth of the county, particularly decisions relating to driving like not wearing seat belts, not texting, and not drinking and driving.” For students who participate in the programs many prizes and rewards can be won. Austin Rader, LifeLines President and senior, said, “As part of this program, students can win prizes on the website and here at the school as well. The Buckle Down Program and the chance to get involved and win will go throughout the school year.”
The grand prize for Buckle Down participators though is the car that will be given out. Overbey said, “In May, for those who sign up by the beginning of December, a winner will be selected to win a car, all for making good choices. Carmel High School, Noblesville and Westfield are all participating in it this year.”
LifeLines will also have various activities during finals week to promote the program. Buckle Down is complemented by the website www.NowThinkNow.com. Overbey said, “Students should feel free to get on the www.NowThinkNow.com site to register for this program. It is an awesome opportunity for all students, will make a difference in some of their lives, and may even save life or two.” By Shayan Ahmad <[email protected]>
