On Dec. 1, the men’s swimming and diving team will open the season at Center Grove. The meet will begin at 6 p.m.

Head Coach Chris Plumb said, “We are coming off a runner-up finish at the 2009 State meet and a Sectional Championship. With the graduation of several key seniors, this year’s team looks to improve upon its previous performance and help return CHS back to the top team in the state.”

Plumb said the goals of the team include swimming to the best of its ability and having its best times at the Championship meet.

Captains and seniors Nikolas Astashinsky, John “Johnny” Bretz, Matthew Flaherty, Jessee Jordan, Mark Kremer and Charles Williams will lead the team. Juniors Michael Vinyard and John Stuy, sophomore Jack Belford and freshman Jonathan Astashinsky will contribute as well.
 
Nikolas said his goals for the season include swimming to the best of his ability, going undefeated in all the meets, and leading the team as a captain while having fun. By Reuben Warshawsky <[email protected]>
