On Jan. 29 all members of the four orchestras will perform in ensembles from 6 to 9 p.m. in the orchestra room. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted at the door.
According to orchestra director Soo Han, all students are required to play in groups of two to 10 people. The audience may come and go as they please throughout the entire three-hour period.
“We always do a unit of chamber music each year.” Han said. “Participating in ensembles is essential to the foundation of what we do in a large orchestra.”
Students including Jingxuan Zhang, a member of the symphony orchestra and junior, have worked with local professional musicians to improve the quality of their music.
“They have been really insightful because they are older and wiser,” Zhang said. “By giving their insight, it makes us interpret the meaning of the music better.” By Tracy Sun <[email protected]>
