New facility to be built for the school

Plans of a new facility for this school have been drawn, and the School Board has approved of these plans.

The School Board has approved of certain plans that will give permission to build a new facility at this school. However, it will be designed towards a certain department.

“This facility is for CHS, not just the PE department, although it will be the students taking P.E. classes who will be using the facility the most,” Kim TenBrink, physical education department chairperson, said.

The new building for this school will consist of many facilities. First, the new building will have a brand new weight room. On the second floor, there will be two gyms and a track for the students to run on. “The current weight room will most likely be converted into two classrooms,” TenBrink said.

The need for this new building has been ongoing for years. According to TenBrink, the current physical education facilities don’t meet the needs of the students. The plans for the new building have been in place for several years now, and have only recently been approved by the School Board.

“I really like it that the school is building a new facility. I think it will be a cool addition to the school,” sophomore A.J. Paluszny said. Even so, the start date of construction has not been determined yet.

The funding for the construction of this building comes from a special reserve of funds allocated especially for these types of projects. By Chris Li <[email protected]>
