House of Representatives is planning for its final events of the school year. The next event is called The Amazing Race and is scheduled for April 24 from 12 to 2 p.m. Teams of five will participate in a series of challenges around the high school campus and local area. The cost is $5 per person. All proceeds will go the the Stephen Backer Memorial Scholarship.
Forms for the event are currently available in the activities office and are due by second session of SRT on April 22. There will be a mandatory meeting for at least one member of each team during second session SRT on April 22. The meeting will take place in the freshman cafeteria.
After The Amazing Race, House will put on its final event of the year, the annual Houndstock Festival. This event is scheduled for May 15 and will be roughly from 4 to 10 p.m. During Houndstock, student bands perform sets for all the attendees. Clubs can also have booths at Houndstock to sell products to students.
“We don’t have the definite times yet,” co-sponsor Sarah Wolff said. Wolff also said Houndstock is House’s biggest event. It usually occurs at the stadium but, in case of bad weather, it will be in the fieldhouse.
Tryouts for Houndstock are scheduled for April 26 and 27 in the freshman cafeteria. The tryouts will be from 3:20 to 9 p.m. Students who want to try out can pick up and drop off forms in the activities office. All forms are due by April 21 by 3:05. By Katie Walstrom <[email protected]>
