As the school year is coming to an end, the students in the Math Club are working harder than ever. All of the Math Club participants have been working hard all year to qualify for the USAMO (United States of America Mathematical Olympiad). Of all the students in Indiana preparing for this, only six qualified. Two of those six attend CHS.
“There were only about 300 students in the Unites States to qualify. For two of Carmel’s students to qualify is just amazing,” Math Club sponsor Kathie Freed said.
The USAMO will take place on April 27 and 28 from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. On this same day the USAJMO (United States of America Junior Mathematical Olympiad) will take place. Out of the seven students in Indiana chosen for this, three are from Carmel.
“This is a great honor for the students to qualify for this opportunity,” Math Club sponsor Kathie Freed said. By Rachel Holst <[email protected]>
