Auditions for this year’s Carmel Idol, sponsored by Student Venture, will take place on March 7 and 8 in the studio theater from 3:30 to 5 p.m., according to Carmel Student Venture staff member Carolyn Wiley. Students interested can sign up in the activities office.
Kathryn “Kate” Shanklin, Student Venture member and junior, said the actual event will take place March 25 at 7 p.m. in the Dale E. Graham Auditorium. Juniors Hannah Larson and Peter Marshall will emcee.
“Auditions are open to any student at Carmel High School,” Shanklin said via e-mail. “Ten students will be selected to participate. After all of the contestants have sung and been judged by our celebrity judges, the audience will vote on the best. By the end of the event the winner will be revealed and they will receive $500; $250 for themselves and $250 for a charity of their choice.”
