HiLite staff members earned seven awards, representing the work of individual staff members, in the 2011 International Writing/Photo Contest sponsored by the American Society of News Editors (ASNE) and Quill & Scroll. There was a total of 3,248 entries in 12 divisions, and 277 individual student winners were selected in the twelve different categories. In addition, winners who are seniors in high school are eligible to apply for several scholarships in journalism. The following students won awards in the divisions listed.
