This week, Best Buddies finished its mentor interviewing process to match up peer mentoring applicants with their buddies. According to Ryann Hill, Best Buddies member and senior, club officers and sponsors observed applicants as they interacted with buddies and interviewed the applicants.
Jana Cosler, Best Buddies sponsor and English teacher, said via email that now that they are done with the process, the club will begin looking at all the applicants to pair them with the buddies they believe they fit best with. After this, the club will have its match party to reveal to the applicants who their buddies are and have them get to know each other better.
“We are looking to have our match party the week after Homecoming,” Cosler said. “That week will include peer training, or sensitivity & awareness training for peer buddies, the match party during SRT, and a family night.”
