Members of Model U.N. who will be attending the Earlham Conference on Jan. 29 are encouraged to attend the meeting tomorrow, according to co-president and senior Mariam Bari.
Bari said that approximately 23 students will participate in this conference, some of them underclassmen.
“Since these are partner delegations I’m hoping the upperclassmen will show (underclassmen) the ropes and how to present themselves and write papers,” Bari said.
Sponsor Sandy Gardner said she encourages students to research their topics in order to be prepared. Members will also write position papers on assigned topics as practice.
According to Bari, preparation is a strength the group has as a whole.
She said, “We might need some more coaching on how to deal with the pressure when speaking in a room full of very intelligent students.”
