Popular software publisher THQ announced plans to sell off its $72 million assets to several different companies. This marks the end of a company that has been in the industry since 1989. THQ primarily published licensed games, such as “SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom” on the PlayStation 2, and “Tetris Worlds”. More recently THQ is known for the popular and critically acclaimed Saints Row series. The future of the series is now unknown. THQ is a big loss for the video game series, and it will be interesting to find out where all of their intellectual property goes.
THQ was mostly known for their licensed work, like “SpongeBob” but they also published original games.
