The women’s volleyball team’s senior night will be on Oct. 8 when they play Kokomo at 6:30p.m for what will be the second to last home game for volleyball players and seniors Carly Cason, Melissa Browning and Kari Truax.
“Carly, although quiet, her play dictated the emotion of our team, which won’t be easy to replicate, whereas Melissa is the exact opposite, she is highly vocal, very smart and is a good spirit that makes the people around her better, “ Head Coach Matt Fishman said. “Kari, is a very committed kid who has so much pride in this program that she strives to make her teammates the best they can be to represent Carmel, something I really appreciate.”
Each senior will be recognized before and after the game for their contributions to the program. Browning echoed the thoughts of Cason and Truax when she said that she wouldn’t have traded the past four years on the volleyball team for anything, while Cason tried to also look forward to the future.
“We’ve gone through all four years together – through the hardships and the championships,” Cason said. “It’ll be bittersweet because we all loved playing with each other and the memories we made, but at the same time we are excited to see what the future holds.”
